Stumbling Upon A Secret Garden of Inspiration

It was a gorgeous warm Fall day in Milwaukee so Lexis and I decided to drive around and see where the road took us. While driving past a mansion on lake drive, we decided to walk out front and take a few pictures in front of the old and weathered brick building. We ran into a girl on her way out, and asked her if we could snap a few shots out front for fun. She said yes... and then gave us an inquisitive look, as if momentarily weighing our credibility. She then motioned to us to follow her, pointed to the alley of the monumental structure, and said,

"I'll show you how to get in, and you'll have the gardens to yourself."

On Lexis:
Thrifted white sweater
Vintage Levi shorts
Gap boots
Nasty Gal body chain

On Natasha:
Aldo Booties
Aldo Clutch

This look is inspired by the movie "A Secret Garden" and the trend video for this Fall/Winter Aldo Style Guide "Playful Glam". Check it out below!

I love how Aldo Shoes is more than just a shoe company.. which is why I don't only work there, but I also live Aldo style and sometimes even aesthetic. This season I'm all about the playful glam look which is inspired by a mixture of edgy and girlie which is honestly my style in a nutshell. The video is fun/inspiring and I hope you enjoy it.

Fashion's Night Out Milwaukee

It may have taken 3 years, but Milwaukee finally jumped on the Fashion's Night Out bandwagon! As the date drew closer, I was skeptical about the turn out on both the retailer and consumer end. As we struggled to find parking, it was clear we were dealing with much more than the typical happy hour crowd in downtown Milwaukee's quaint and classy Third Ward. Yes folks Milwaukee residents are no strangers to fashion. And, yes, we know fashion beyond Marc, Chanel, and Mr. Kors. Though we love those names too.

Milwaukee Fashion's Night Out was a complete success that saw more than 1,500 people, and quite a business boost for local Milwaukee boutiques. On top of that, it's given Milwaukee fashionistas and fashionistos a glimmer of hope that there is in fact a strong fashion presence in our pint-sized city. Groups of well-dressed ladies and gents dotted the sidewalks, drinks and bags in hand. There was an air of excitement that existed as the night went on and the shop windows kept glowing.

Over 30 boutiques stayed open until 9pm, and shout out to the ones who had raffles, samples, and flutes of champagne. (love!!) Some of the local boutiques that really wowed me with their unique collections were Luci, who had lovely dresses in every style and color, and Five Hearts, who had adorable accessories and jewelry that I can't stop lusting over. Overall, Milwaukee Fashion's Night Out was a major hit, and a fantastic celebration of fashion.
